An audio drama continues the Zorro films
Britain’s Big Finish is making a six-part dramatised audio play about Zorro: The Legacy of Zorro is an official sequel to the two Antonio Banderas films, written by Adam Lance Garcia, known from the Star Wars anthologies. It arrives in November, digital only.
Big Finish, the British company known for its audio dramas, announced The Legacy of Zorro on 6 August. The audio drama, one hundred and eighty minutes in total, is an officially licensed sequel to The Mask of Zorro (1998) and The Legend of Zorro (2005).
The story is set in California in 1870, five years after the American Civil War, when Zorro's legend has faded into myth. Former Confederates abduct hundreds of people into forced labour to dig up Don Rafael Montero's lost gold; when a fugitive appears, Alejandro Murrieta takes up the mask again. The episode titles are Zorro's Last Ride, Saint of California, The Blade of Zorro, The Masquerade of Zorro, The Son of Zorro and The Return of Zorro.
The script is by Adam Lance Garcia, whose Star Wars connection is two anthology pieces: The Veteran in the fiftieth-anniversary Return of the Jedi collection, and a story in Star Wars Insider magazine. Garcia has previously worked on a comics series and on an audio-drama podcast.
The production is released in November 2026 through Big Finish's own shop, as a digital download.
